18 Feb Katharine Pooley Shares her Colour Trends for 2019
Katharine Pooley is delighted to share her Colour Trends for 2019:
“Blush For 2019 I envisage something warmer and more feminine on my walls. I love to use a tiny dash of very soft dusky pink to warm up expanses of taupe or neutrals – this staircase in Doha had hand applied plaster on the walls so it was easy to introduce the merest hint of colour. It looks particularly appealing with rose gold and bronze tones and balanced with crystal and white marble as achieved on this staircase designed and installed by my team.
Or use a range of luxurious finishes such a this champagne gold leaf, pink onyx and infused glass.
Bronze My inspiration for this Bedroom in St James London was the softly undulating bronze of the hand painted silk wallpaper – with a slight copper hue it is most beautiful in the evening creating an inviting, warm and elegant backdrop.
Rose Gold This centerpiece bowl is elegantly formed using fine glass and brushed bronze pigment – its organic shape a beautiful accent piece for any coffee table.
Our delicate Mother of Pearl plate with silver dragonfly ornament on the other hand is the perfect place to rest those precious pieces of jewellery, while you unwind in your bedroom surrounded by the Choisya scent of our Katharine Pooley Candle – how relaxing.
Feminine Dressing Room I love designing dressing rooms, they are such intimate personal spaces. We created this vast walk in wardrobe (incorporating a safe and full length mirrors) for a client with an incredible collection of accessories, jewellery and hand bags that cried out to be displayed like the artworks that they are.
Viola Calcutta Marble I found this amazing new marble Calcutta viola when sourcing stone in Italy for my new furniture range – its veining has a deep rich masculine maroon hue which sits fabulously against the clean ivory base – combined with bronze it is the perfect accent to introduce to a tonal or monochromatic scheme.”
