An exciting year for hotel openings, Jean-Michel Gathy is proud to present his upcoming ground-breaking luxury hotels for 2018.
Andaz Sanya Sunny Bay, Hainan Island – opening December 2018
An interpretation of an ancient Chinese village, the hotel features a contemporary block design. Comprised of smaller block like buildings built closer to one another, guests feel a sense of community within a cosy living area throughout the hotel.
Guest rooms are designed to encourage an outdoor living experience. Comprising of spacious resort villas in addition to 183 guest rooms, all rooms include a balcony with an outdoor bath where guests can rest and enjoy the outdoor environment privately.
Andaz Sanya Sunny Bay will feature five restaurants, a 2,500 square-foot ballroom and three meeting venues in addition to offering signing privileges at Park Hyatt Sanya’s Spa Village, beach club, and fitness centre, restaurants, Tea House and bakery.
Mandarin Oriental, Bali – opening December 2018
Located on top of a cliff on the South part of Bali, Mandarin Oriental Bali will comprise of 88 luxury rooms with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Surrounded by water, guests will have direct access to a secluded and protected white-sand beach.
“All accommodation will be contemporary in style, taking full advantage of the resort’s outstanding vistas” shares Jean-Michel Gathy, Architect & Interior Designer of Denniston International. Design elements will be influenced by the local area’s culture and the Group’s oriental heritage, Mandarin Oriental’s exacting attention to detail.
Offering the finest dining in the region, Mandarin Oriental, Bali will feature three restaurants and bars including a spectacular, signature cantilevered cliff-top restaurant, a three-meal restaurant and a relaxed beach grill and bar. A variety of multi-purpose function rooms will be available, including an iconic cliff-top ceremony platform – ideal for weddings – with sweeping ocean views.
An all-inclusive Spa at Mandarin Oriental will offer the most comprehensive range of wellness, beauty and massage treatments available in the region.
Mandarin Oriental Bali will also being launching their Residences, which will feature a collection of 91 standalone villas within the complex, created to maximize the stunning oceanfront vistas.
Jumeirah Bali – Opening December 2018
Located on the southern tip of the exclusive Jimbaran District, Jumeirah Bali will look out onto the pristine sands of the renowned Dreamland surfer’s beach, adjacent to Bali’s exclusive New Kuta Golf Course.
Comprising of 80 spacious hotel suites and 25 private villas, and set amidst lush, tropical gardens, Jumeirah Bali will feature architectural designs reflective of Bali’s rich cultural heritage and modelled after an ancient Javanese-Hindu water palace.
The resort will offer a variety of fine international and local cuisines in three restaurants. It will also offer Jumeirah’s signature Talise Spa and a state-of-the-art fitness centre. An exclusive cliff-top wedding venue which will capture stunning sunset views is another highlight of the property.
