Introducing Aman Wellness Destinations by Design Visionary Jean-Michel Gathy

21 May Introducing Aman Wellness Destinations by Design Visionary Jean-Michel Gathy

With the rise of exclusive wellness retreats and stylish spas, Jean-Michel Gathy, master architect of Aman Sveti Stefan, Montenegro, Amanyara, Turks and Caicos and Aman Venice in Italy, shares his design inspiration behind the creation of environments of rejuvenation and relaxation.

Aman Sveti Stefan – Montenegro

Positioned on the shores of a pink-sand private beach, Aman Sveti Stefan is known to be one of the most beautiful in the Adriatic. The resort is set with breath-taking views over the most coveted bay in Montenegro.

Aman Sveti Stefan is divided into two distinct halves comprising of 50 rooms and villas as well as 8 magnificent suites.

Constructed out of a 15th-century fortress, Jean-Michel Gathy and DENNISTON drew inspiration from historical features and contemporary reinterpretations while preserving cultural and heritage elements. Each room is designed with an elegant décor in cream and neutral tones. The 1,600sqm spa offers treatments following a holistic personalised approach with natural Aman products and outdoor terraces for relaxation.

Amanyara – Providenciales, Turks and Caicos

Set amidst a tropical lush destination, Amanyara is perched on the western shore of Providenciales, overlooking the pristine reefs of the Northwest Point Marine National Park, Turks & Caicos. Jean-Michel Gathy was drawn by the nature and serenity of the island incorporating Zen elements and natural materials to the design of the resort. The décor is contemporary-chic and minimalistic, fronted by the resort’s volcanic rock swimming pool.

The circular bar’s dramatic, conical roof is Amanyara’s signature feature. The 40 pavilions at Amanyara offer panoramic views of the turquoise water of the Turks and Caicos Islands. The teak terraces and the Four Spa Pavillions further enhance the calming environment of the Resort.

Aman Venice – Italy

Elegant and romantic, Aman Venice, is housed in the 16th century Palazzo Papadopoli. Jean-Michel Gathy integrated the existing décor with sculpted marbles, mouldings, frescoes and woodwork to create an expanse of opulent historic splendour.

The original décor and the 24 suites have been enhanced by modern details and technology such as mood lighting and ancient Murano crystal chandeliers. The magical view of the Grand Canal, gardens and wellness experience ensure this Venetian hotel is the place to be, when it comes to enjoying a moment of relaxation and wonder in this beautiful city.
