Bokor Sights: Rise early and head to the towering mountains of Bokor National Park, a one-and-a-half-hour drive from the resort’s mainland base. Once at the top, visit the old colonial hill station, including the recently renovated Bokor Palace, an Art Deco treasure, and a Romanesque church, before heading to the Popokvil waterfall. Head back down for sustenance at guests’ choice of the Green House or Fish Market – both riverside restaurants come highly recommended. Finish the trip with a post-lunch drive or walk around Kampot’s charming old market and town, home to a range of classical French colonial architecture.

CULINARY ARTS

Gourmet travellers will relish the opportunity to savour regional flavours and national dishes, discover authentic delicacies and local spice secrets. Alila Villas Koh Russey offers guests to experience the traditional Khmer cuisine and the taste of colonial French. Pepper Delights: The 8-hour journey in the main island of Cambodia will take guests past bright green rice fields and wooden houses. Tour one of the area’s most famous plantations, and enjoy a pepper-infused lunch overlooking the farm and the Bokor Mountain Range in the background. On the way back, stop by the city of Kampot and take a stroll or drive through the old market and town, infused with old-world French colonial charm. Island Cook-Off: For guest who prefer to stay in the island, they can uncover the secrets of authentic Khmer cuisine in a 3-hour cooking class, introduce guests to local ingredients, basic recipes and traditional dishes. Head into the resort’s main restaurant where the Executive Chef will be the guide, sharing details of the spices, flavours and cooking techniques. After learning how to cook some local dishes, comes the most gratifying part of the experience, guests can then enjoy the food they have just prepared in the location of their choice.

All about quality time, the unforgettable experience is perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries or romantic gateways. Beach Picnic: a romantic exclusive three-course gourmet picnic for guests and their beloved one. With a blanket draped on the sand under the shade, close to the waves, with cushions to lounge on, and small tables laden with a three-course gourmet picnic, guests can enjoy the magical vistas of the Gulf of Thailand at the far end of the resort’s beach.
